NIA files charge sheet against 7 more accused in Attari drug smuggling case

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a charge sheet against seven more accused in the sensational case of recovery of over 100 kg of narcotics in Attari.

In its supplementary charge sheet filed in the Patiala House Court here, the probe agency has named seven accused associated with the international drug syndicate related to the case, identified as Athar Saeed, Amritpal Singh, Avtar Singh, Harwinder Singh, Tahsim, Deepak Khurana and Ahmed Farid.

The probe agency had earlier chargesheeted four accused in the case. In April 2022, the Indian Customs department seized a total of 102.784 kg of heroin, valued at Rs 700 crore, at the Integrated Check Post Attari Amritsar.
