NIA raids premises of alleged Khalistan operatives in Punjab and Haryana
New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches today at multiple locations in Punjab and Haryana linked to alleged operatives of the banned Khalistan Terrorist Force (KTF) and associates of Canada-based fugitive Arsh Dalla, officials said.
The raids were carried out at premises in Bathinda, Muktsar Sahib, Moga, Ferozepur, Sangrur, and Mansa in Punjab, as well as Sirsa in Haryana. Among the targets was Baljit Maur, a suspected associate currently in jail.
During the operation, investigators seized mobile phones, digital devices, and incriminating documents, which are now under examination.
“The investigation so far has revealed efforts by handlers of terrorist organisations based abroad to recruit cadres for carrying out terrorist activities in India,” an NIA spokesperson said.
The NIA registered a case earlier this year following directives from the Union Home Ministry. The probe focuses on a broader conspiracy involving various terrorist organisations to commit acts of terror, raise funds through extortion, smuggle arms and ammunition into India, and facilitate their use for terrorist activities, the agency added.
