Nirmala Sitharaman presents seventh consecutive budget; Cabinet approves budget

New Delhi: After the formation of the new government, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting the budget in Parliament today. This is the finance minister’s seventh consecutive budget. The Finance Minister first met the officials of his ministry and then met President Droupadi Murmu. After this, he reached Parliament House. The Cabinet approved the budget in Parliament House.

In this budget, women, youth and farmers can get relief. Both houses of Parliament — Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha — have been allotted 20 hours each to discuss the budget. The Business Advisory Committee of the Lok Sabha has decided to discuss issues related to ministries related to railways, education, health, MSME and food processing ministries besides others.

A total of 20 hours have been given for the debate on the Union Budget. Sources said the BAC, comprising representatives of various parties, decided on the agenda of the session while some opposition members demanded a discussion on various issues. He said that the demand for grants from the five ministries will be allowed to discuss various matters related to them.
