Number of students coming to Canada from outside increases, govt considers foreign student cap over housing crisis

New Delhi: Canadian government minister Sean Fraser has indicated that the Trudeau government needs to evaluate study visas and consider it deeply and limit the number. Fraser even said that the rapid influx of students in Canada is having a very bad effect on the value of land and houses.        Experts believe that the decision can break the dream of Indians to go there. People in Canada are losing their living space. Therefore, this country is preparing to rein in the number of foreign students. 
      In 2022, more than 8 lakh students from 184 countries came to Canada. In 2015, the number was less than 400,000.
      Jaswinder Singh Jassa, a prominent leader of the Punjabi community living in Ottawa, Canada, said that this crowd in Canada was a part of politics. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) plans to implement a new credible institution framework for its student visa program by 2024. 
       In the last seven years, the prices of houses have skyrocketed and the indigenous people here are feeling uneasy.
