One terrorist killed in ongoing army operation in J&K’s Rajouri district
Srinagar: A militant was killed and an Army jawan was injured in an ongoing army operation against militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, police said. The militants attacked the newly-built Army post near the house of Shaurya Chakra awardee Parshottam Kumar, a member of the Village Defence Committee (VDC), at village Gunda Khawas in Rajouri district at around 3 am, the officials said.
During this time, a soldier was injured due to bullet injury while a cow died. Parshottam Kumar was recently awarded the Shaurya Chakra by the President for his help in killing a terrorist in Kalakote area of Rajouri district. He said that after the attack, a massive operation was launched to search for the terrorists which is still going on.
There has been a spurt in terrorist attacks in the division since the past. There have been six terror attacks in Jammu division since June 9 this year in which 12 security personnel have been killed. The attacks took place in Poonch, Rajouri, Doda and Kathua districts.
