Paris Olympics: India enter quarterfinals of women’s table tennis

Paris: Star shuttler Manika Batra led India to a 3-2 win over higher-ranked Romania to enter the quarterfinals of the Women’s Table Tennis Championships here today.

India were leading 2-0 but Romania bounced back to level the scores at 2-2. In the deciding match, Manika won and gave the team the victory. Manika defeated the better-ranked Bernadette than her.
