PM Modi invites Pope Francis to visit India

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Apulia, Italy to attend the special session of the G-7 Summit, met Pope Francis today. Modi hugged Pope Francis, the 87-year-old head of the Catholic Church, sitting on a wheelchair, and spoke in a light-hearted manner.

He invited Pope Francis to visit India and said he appreciated his commitment to serving the people and making the planet better.

During the special session of the G-7, the Pope discussed issues such as masnui intellectualism (AI), energy, Africa and the Mediterranean. He said that it is up to all of us to make better use of AI.
