PM Modi’s degree: Gujarat HC rejects Arvind Kejriwal’s Plea for interim stay on proceedings
New Delhi: Receiving a major set back, Gujarat High Court has refused to grant an interim stay on the defamation proceedings initiated against Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal and his party MP Sanjay Singh for their derogatory remarks against Gujarat University.
The Gujarat High Court has refused to grant an interim stay on the trial court’s order. Arvind Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh had filed a petition in the Gujarat High Court seeking summons from the trial court in the defamation case and adjournment of the proceedings in the case.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh were scheduled to appear before a trial court in Ahmedabad on August 11 in a defamation case. Both the leaders had appealed to the Gujarat High Court for interim relief in the same case.
