Police visit Delhi HC judge Yashwant Verma’s residence over alleged cash recovery
New Delhi: A team led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) visited the residence of Delhi High Court judge Yashwant Verma on Wednesday as part of its probe into the alleged recovery of cash.
Police sources said the team inspected the spot where a fire had broken out and may question the staff working at the judge’s residence.
Chief Justice of India (CJI) formed a three-member committee to conduct an internal inquiry into the allegations.
The inquiry report by Delhi High Court Chief Justice DK Upadhyay, which allegedly includes photos and videos of a large amount of cash, will be uploaded.
Justice Verma condemned the allegations, saying no cash was ever kept in the storeroom by him or any of his family members.
