Preparing for another war against Corona, mock drill in hospitals across the country today

New Delhi: A mock drill to be conducted today to check the preparedness of hospitals to deal with any surge in Covid-19 cases in India. 

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Monday said health ministers of all states will participate at their own level in the ‘mock drill’ to be held in all Covid hospitals across the country as a precautionary measure amid a surge in infections in China and other countries.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya reached Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital to monitor the drill on Tuesday morning. “Such exercises will help us, if there is any deficiency, help fill it and consequently strengthen our public health response,” Mandaviya had said at a meeting with the Indian Medical Association (IMA) yesterday.
In view of the rise in covid cases globally, random covid-19 testing has been started at various airports across the country.
Teachers of Delhi government schools have been put on duty at Delhi airport. Teachers are being deployed to monitor passengers coming from abroad and follow corona rules there.
On an average, 25,000 passengers arrive at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) daily and 500 of them are being tested.
