Punjab Police withdraw security personnel for Arvind Kejriwal ahead of Delhi polls

Chandigarh: Punjab Police personnel assigned to the security of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal have been withdrawn, Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav confirmed in Patiala.

“We receive regular reports regarding threats faced by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal, which we share with the concerned agencies,” Yadav stated.

He added that the decision to remove Punjab Police personnel was made following instructions from the Delhi Police and the Election Commission.

“We have communicated our concerns and remain in contact with them. All relevant information will be shared with the Delhi Police,” Yadav said.

The withdrawal comes ahead of polling for the 70-member Delhi Assembly on February 5, with results to be announced on February 8.
