Raghav Chadha raises concerns over Punjab’s drug crisis in Rajya Sabha

Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha raised pressing questions in the Rajya Sabha about the growing drug problem in Punjab, highlighting its devastating impact on the state’s youth and society.

Addressing the upper house, Chadha expressed deep concern over recent deaths linked to drug abuse in Punjab and said that there is need of addressing the crisis as a national priority.

He urged the central government to implement effective measures to combat the issue.

Chadha sought answers from the government regarding steps taken to address drug-related deaths in Punjab and questioned the progress on establishing new Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) offices in the state.

He also inquired about efforts to enhance coordination between the Centre and state police to tackle the problem.

MP Chadha pressed the government to confirm whether it had conducted any studies on the impact of drugs on Punjab’s youth and its broader societal effects.
