Rahul Gandhi backs Elon Musk’s concern on voting machine, says ‘EVMs are like ‘black boxes’ in India
New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday said electronic voting machines (EVMs) in India are “black boxes” which no one is allowed to check.
He said that “serious concerns” are being raised about the election process in India. In a post on ‘X’, Rahul Gandhi said, “When there is no accountability of institutions, democracy becomes a mere sham and the fear of manipulation increases.”
Along with this post, Rahul has also shared a news report which claimed that the relative of a Shiv Sena candidate, who won from Mumbai’s North-West by 48 votes, has a phone with which the EVM could have been opened.
The former Congress president has also shared Elon Musk’s post on X in which he talked about removing EVMs.
