Rajoana gets parole from HC

New Delhi: The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Wednesday ordered the release of Balwant Singh Rajoana, convicted in the assassination case of late Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh, on parole for three hours to attend the bhog of his brother Kulwant Singh. Rajoana is currently lodged in The Central Jail, Patiala.

He will be granted parole to visit his village in Ludhiana from 11 am to 2 pm on Wednesday to attend his brother’s bhog.

Earlier in 2021, Rajoana was granted an hour’s parole to attend his father’s bhog.

Rajoana’s brother Kulwant Singh, who died of a heart attack in Canada earlier this month, has been kept in his village Rajoana Kalan for his spiritual peace, which will be observed on Wednesday.

Rajoana had filed a petition in the high court seeking an opportunity to join him in the bhog.
