Ravneet Bittu elected unopposed Rajya Sabha MP from Rajasthan
New Delhi: Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu has become a Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab. Today Tuesday, his victory was also stamped. Actually, the last date for withdrawing nominations for the Rajya Sabha elections was today and the results have been announced after 3 pm.
Bittu’s victory had already been lopsided with the Congress deciding not to field any candidate in these by-elections.
After the Congress did not field candidates in these by-elections, only 3 candidates were left to file nomination papers. BJP’s dummy candidate Sunil Kothari has already withdrawn his nomination.
Apart from this, there was also the nomination paper of independent candidate Babita Wadhwani, which was rejected after scrutiny. After which Bittu was the only one left in the contest.
