SC dismisses plea seeking inquiry against former CJI Ranjan Gogoi, calls security to escort lawyer out
New Delhi: A heated exchange occurred in the Supreme Court between a bench comprising Justice Bela Trivedi, Justice SC Sharma, and a lawyer, leading to security personnel being called to remove the petitioner from the courtroom.
The incident unfolded during a hearing when the petitioner, Arun Ramchandra Hublikar, demanded an in-house inquiry against former Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi.
The confrontation began after the bench refused to entertain the petition. Despite repeated attempts to argue the case, the court decided to dismiss the plea.
The petitioner had sought an investigation against Justice Gogoi, who has since retired, over his dismissal of a service dispute case.
Before dismissing the petition, the bench remarked, “We are going to end it. Many applications are coming one after the other,” indicating their frustration with repetitive filings.
After further disruptions, the court summoned security personnel to escort the lawyer out of the courtroom.
