Security tightened outside BJP headquarters in view of AAP protest
New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Monday tightened security outside the BJP headquarters here in the wake of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s announcement of a protest. The police, however, said the AAP has not taken permission for the protest. The traffic police have also issued an advisory in view of the protest outside the BJP office on Deendayal Upadhyay Marg.
“Due to the proposed protest by a political party on DDU Marg in Delhi, traffic on DDU Marg, IP Marg, Minto Road and Vikas Marg will be affected,” the traffic police said in a post on social media platform X.
The DDU route is likely to be closed for traffic from 11 am to 2 pm and it is suggested to avoid going on these roads. Security has been beefed up at the BJP headquarters as a precautionary measure, a senior police officer said.
