Seven killed, six injured in fire at firecracker factory in Gujarat’s Banaskantha

Banaskantha: Seven people were killed and six others injured in a fire that broke out at a firecracker factory in Gujarat’s Banaskantha district on Tuesday, police said.

Inspector Vijay Chaudhary, in charge of Deesa Rural police station, said parts of the factory near Deesa town collapsed due to the fire, injuring several workers. There are fears that some may still be trapped.

Firefighters from Deesa municipality are carrying out relief operations to rescue those trapped under the debris.

A district administration official confirmed that three bodies have been recovered, while six injured workers have been sent to the civil hospital for treatment.
