SGPC sends notice to Zee Studios for releasing emergency movie trailer with controversial scenes

Chandigarh: The controversy surrounding the release of the Bollywood film Emergency continues to escalate.

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has now sent a legal notice to the film’s studio, alleging that the trailer of Emergency contains controversial scenes.

The SGPC has written to the Broadcasting Ministry and the Censor Board, demanding an investigation into the film’s script.

During a media interaction, SGPC member Gurcharan Singh Grewal stated that the film is filled with controversies.

He further said that the lead actress, Kangana Ranaut, has made several controversial statements about Punjab, Sikhs, and farmers. The film, he claims, fails to acknowledge the contributions of Punjab and the Akali Dal in ending the Emergency and portrays a misleading image of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.
