Shimla-bound flight overshoots runway with deputy CM, DGP on board

Shimla: A Shimla-bound flight from Delhi, carrying Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri and Director General of Police Atul Verma, overshot the landing site at Juberhati airport on Monday morning.

According to eyewitnesses, the aircraft crossed the runway and collided with studs at the edge of the airstrip.

Airport officials said the flight had taken off from Delhi after a routine check, and engineers were examining the aircraft for any technical issues.

“The runway is short, and we cannot deny the fact. As a layman, I can say that the plane did not land where it should have and reached the end of the airstrip,” an official said.
