Sifat Kaur Samara wins maiden ISSF World Cup gold in 50m rifle 3P
New Delhi: Indian shooter Sifat Kaur Samara clinched her first individual gold medal at the ISSF World Cup after winning the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions (3P) final in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The 23-year-old from Faridkot secured India’s first gold of the season-opening World Cup stage at the Tiro Federal Argentina de Buenos Aires shooting range late on Friday night.
Sifat topped the 45-shot final with a score of 458.6, finishing 3.3 points ahead of Germany’s Anna Janssen Mangold, who took silver with 455.3.
After missing out on a medal on the opening day, India concluded the second day of the competition with two medals — a gold from Sifat and a bronze earlier won by Chain Singh in the men’s 3P event. China currently leads the medal tally with one gold and one silver.
