Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets in IPL clash

Hyderabad: Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Chennai Super Kings by five wickets in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match, successfully chasing a target of 155 runs in 18.4 overs.

Ishan Kishan led the run chase with a composed 44 off 34 balls, while Kamindu Mendis remained unbeaten on 32 off 22 deliveries. Nitish Kumar Reddy also stayed not out with 19 runs, guiding the team to victory after opener Abhishek Sharma fell for a duck. For Chennai, Noor Ahmed was the most successful bowler, picking up two wickets for 42 runs.

Earlier, Chennai Super Kings were bowled out for 154 in 19.5 overs. Harshal Patel starred with the ball for Hyderabad, claiming four wickets for 28 runs. Captain Pat Cummins and Jaydev Unadkat chipped in with two wickets each, while Kamindu Mendis and Mohammed Shami took one apiece.

For Chennai, Dewald Brevis top-scored with 42 off 25 balls. Ayush Mhatre added 30 off 19, and Deepak Hooda contributed 22 runs. The five-time champions struggled early, managing just 50 runs in the powerplay with the loss of three wickets and reaching 76/4 at the halfway mark.
