Supreme Court calls Prayagraj demolitions ‘inhuman and illegal’
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday criticized the Uttar Pradesh government and the Prayagraj Development Authority, calling the demolition of houses in the city “inhuman and illegal.”
A bench of Justices Abhay S Oka and Ujjal Bhuyan, while noting the large-scale demolitions, said that the country follows the rule of law and that residential structures cannot be razed in this manner.
