Supreme Court grants interim bail to Arvind Kejriwal till June 1
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday granted interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi liquor scam case.
Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), was arrested on March 21 and is currently lodged in Tihar Jail under judicial custody.
Earlier on Thursday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) lodged a protest in the Supreme Court through an affidavit on the issue of interim bail of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a money laundering case related to the alleged excise policy scam and said that the right to campaign in elections is neither a fundamental right nor constitutional.
At the same time, Arvind Kejriwal’s legal team has objected to the affidavit filed by the ED.
