Supreme Court refuses to grant interim bail to Kejriwal in excise policy case
New Delhi: The Supreme Court today refused to grant interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a corruption case registered by the CBI in an alleged excise policy scam.
A bench of Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan issued notice to the probe agency on Kejriwal’s plea against the Delhi High Court order upholding his arrest by the CBI.
“We are not granting interim bail,” the bench told senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, appearing for Kejriwal. We will issue a notice. The matter has been listed for further hearing on August 23.
