T20 World Champions Indian team gets a grand welcome at Wankhede Stadium

Mumbai: The Indian team, which won the T20 World Cup, was given a grand welcome at the Wankhede Stadium. Earlier, the Indian team players boarded the Vijay Rath (open-roofed bus) with the tricolour and trophy at Nariman Point in Mumbai and went to the Wankhede Stadium, located 2.2 km from here. After this, he was given a prize of Rs 125 crore in the stadium.

More than two and a half lakh fans arrived here to welcome their cricketers.

The three-km-long Marine Drive remained congested despite the monsoon rains. The Maharashtra government has beefed up security in the area in view of the rush.

Indian fans welcomed the occasion with garlands of flowers and drums.
