Three Gujarat Police personnel killed in accident on Bharatmala Expressway
Ahmedabad: Three Gujarat Police personnel were killed, and a Probationary Sub-Inspector (PSI) was seriously injured after their Bolero vehicle collided with an unidentified truck on the Bharatmala Expressway on Wednesday, police said.
The accident occurred near Waringkheda/Saktakhera village when a truck abruptly changed lanes in front of the Bolero. The Gujarat Police personnel, posted at Ramol police station in Ahmedabad, were traveling to Ludhiana to investigate a case.
The deceased have been identified as Head Constable Sunil Kumar, son of Shanti Lal, Home Guard Ravinder, and another person, Ghanshyam. PSI Jai Inder Singh sustained fractures in his right leg and internal injuries and has been admitted to AIIMS Bathinda.
Sadar K police station in-charge Brahm Prakash said a search was underway for the unidentified truck based on a number plate recovered from the spot.
