Two Agniveer killed in shell blast during firing drill

New Delhi: During an artillery drill, two Agniveer soldiers were killed when an Indian field gun shell exploded. The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon at an artillery center in the Nashik Road area, according to an official.

The explosion claimed the lives of Agniveer Gohil Vishwaraj Singh, aged 20, and Saifet Sit, aged 21. The Agniveer team was conducting firing exercises on an Indian field gun when the shell burst.

Both soldiers sustained injuries and were rushed to MH Hospital in Deolali, where they were pronounced dead. Based on a complaint filed by Havildar Ajit Kumar, a case of accidental death has been registered at the Deolali Camp Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
