UP Court orders arrest of AAP MP Sanjay Singh in 23-year-old case, asks police to produce on August 28
New Delhi: A court in UP’s Sultanpur has ordered the arrest of 6 people, including Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, SP spokesperson and former MLA Anup Sanda, in a 23-year-old case. The MP-MLA court of Sultanpur asked the police to present all of them by August 28.
This case is of 19 June 2001. Some people, including AAP MP Sanjay Singh, Samajwadi Party national spokesperson and former MLA Anup Sanda, had agitated near Lucknow Naka in Nagar Kotwali area over electricity and water and other public problems.
All of them staged a protest near the flyover to protest against the poor power system. The then Kotwali Nagar sub-inspector had registered a case against them by imposing all sections like road blockade.
