US Vice President JD Vance to visit India next week, to meet PM Modi
Washington: US Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha Vance are scheduled to visit India early next week, during which he will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to a statement from his office.
Before arriving in India, Vance will travel to Italy this week. His visit to India, set to take place between April 18 and 24, will include both personal and official engagements, people familiar with the matter told CBS News.
Vance’s itinerary in India includes stops in Delhi, Jaipur, and Agra. According to a US statement, the Vice President and his family will also participate in cultural events during the trip.
The visit comes amid global concern over President Donald Trump’s recent tariff policy. Meanwhile, US National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, who was also expected to visit India early next week, has postponed his trip, sources said.
