Uttar Pradesh: The Firozabad district court has sentenced an 80-year-old man to life imprisonment in a 49-year-old murder case. About 49 years ago, on September 14, 1974, a woman named Meera Devi had filed a case at Narki police station in the district, in which she had alleged that Mahendra Singh had shot dead her mother Rambeti.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Jatinder Gupta, after hearing both sides, convicted Mohinder Singh and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
