Vaibhav Suryavanshi becomes youngest centurion in IPL history
Jaipur: Rajasthan Royals’ new batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest player to score a century in the Indian Premier League (IPL) during a match against Gujarat Titans.
He achieved the milestone at the age of 14 years and 32 days.
Vaibhav scored 101 runs off just 37 balls, also registering the second-fastest century in IPL history. His innings included 11 sixes and 7 fours.
The record for the fastest century in the IPL remains with West Indies batsman Chris Gayle, who reached the mark in 30 balls while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors in 2013.
