With Vinesh reaching the finals, India’s medal is assured. Vinesh Phogat created history by defeating Japan’s defending champion Yui Tsusaki in the pre-quarterfinals, shocking the world in the day. She then defeated Ukraine’s Oksana Liwach in the quarter-finals. Vinesh is up against Cuba’s Yusnilis Guzman Lopez for a place in the final.
