WhatsApp suspends 9.7 million accounts in India in February

New Delhi: WhatsApp suspended 9.7 million accounts in India in February for allegedly transmitting objectionable content, the company said in its monthly report. Of these, 1.4 million accounts had already been frozen for engaging in illegal activities.

The Meta-owned platform advised users to follow regulations and avoid forwarding provocative messages in bulk without verifying their authenticity.
