‘Why youth opt for ‘dunky’: Rahul Gandhi hits out at BJP for rising unemployment in Haryana
New Delhi: Senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Tuesday, sharply criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for rising unemployment in Haryana. He questioned why the state’s youth are being forced to become “dunky” and seek opportunities abroad.
Addressing the issue, Gandhi stated that under a Congress-led government in Haryana, a new system would be established to ensure that young people do not have to leave their families behind in pursuit of their dreams.
He accused the BJP of committing “gross injustice” by depriving the nation’s youth of employment opportunities, compelling them to embark on perilous journeys overseas. His remarks came alongside a video he shared on social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), where he interacted with several young people from Haryana currently residing in the U.S. due to a lack of job prospects at home.
The youths expressed that unemployment in India, especially in Haryana, had forced them to migrate, and they recounted the challenges they faced while adapting to life in a foreign country.
