Woman, lover arrested for husband’s murder-for-hire plot in Auraiya
New Delhi: A woman and her lover have been arrested in Auraiya district, Uttar Pradesh, for allegedly conspiring to kill her husband by hiring a contract killer for Rs 2 lakh, police said. The contract killer has also been apprehended.
Superintendent of Police Abhijit R Shankar said that the victim, Dilip, who operated a hydra machine, was married to Pragati on March 5, 2025. However, Pragati was reportedly in a relationship with Anurag alias Bablu alias Manoj Yadav from her village and was unhappy in her marriage.
Pragati and Bablu allegedly planned to eliminate Dilip and hired Ramji Nagar, a resident of Achhalda police station area, to carry out the killing. Ramji allegedly lured Dilip to a secluded area on his bike, assaulted him, and shot him before fleeing, believing he was dead.
Police have arrested all three accused, and further investigation is underway.
