Nawanshahr resident dragged youth on bonnet in Chandigarh's Sector 22 market, dies

Chandigarh: A 24-year-old was mowed down to death by a Nawanshahr resident in a Sector 22 market, police said on Tuesday. 

   Deceased was identified as Shubham, a resident of Dadu Majra Colony. He died after undergoing treatment at PGI today. The incident took place on Friday night, police said. 

    The luxury car, with a Delhi registration number, was impounded and accused, identified as Swapan Preet Singh, owner of a gym in Nawanshahr, also arrested in the case. 

     Police recovered beer bottles from a nearby liquor vend just before the incident.

      Eyewitnesses said the car driver dragged the victim on the bonnet of his car for a distance and then ran him over as he fell on the road. 

      A case under Section 304 (1) of the IPC registered by the police at the Sector 17 police station.
