Patwari and Kanungo unions announced to go on mass leave against Vigilance action from Tomorrow in Punjab

Punjab E News (Chandigarh):-  The patwari and Kanungo unions  posted in the revenue department of the Punjab government have announced to go on a mass leave to mark a protest against the vigilance department from Wednesday.

A meeting of the office bearers of the state executive of both the organisations was held today under the leadership of State President of Revenue Kanungo Association Punjab, Rupinder Singh Grewal and State President of Mal Patwar Union Punjab, Harvir Singh Khalsa, officials said.

Speaking on the occasion, various speakers said that in the recent past Patwari Didar Singh Chhokra belonging to Malerkotla district has been arrested by the vigilance department in an alleged corruption against him after summoning him to police station.

The spokesman said patwari Didar Singh Chhokra who is the district president of the organisation has been arrested on the basis of a video circulating on social media.

The spokespersons pointed out that Patwari Chhokra has no connection with the video being talked about by the vigilance department. Addressing the gathering, the leaders said that as a mark of protest against the illegal police case allegedly registered against Patwari Chhokra, the state's group Revenue Patwari and Kanungo will be on mass leave from May 4 to May 15. The leaders said that they would not even refrain from going on an indefinite strike if they still did not get any justice.
