Loudspeaker row: Police removes more than 45,000 loudspeakers in state; 58,000 speakers voice reduced

Punjab E News (New Delhi):-  The loudspeaker controversy from Maharashtra, had reached Uttar Pradesh and CM Yogi Adityanath issued order for removal of loudspeakers installed without permission. 

   A special drive has been launched in this regard and so far more than 45,000 loudspeakers have been removed from religious places. 

   On April 23, an order in this regard was also notified, after which the police swung into action and loudspeakers are being removed from religious places by conducting continuous drives in different districts of UP. At the same time, so far, the noise volume of over 58,000 loudspeakers have been reduced. 

A direction from the Supreme Court 

   To control noise pollution, the Supreme Court has directed to remove loudspeakers from religious places. The Supreme Court's directive is being implemented at many places in Uttar Pradesh. In Bihar too, the issue is boiling. 

    Some Muslim groups, however, opposing to the drive But Sikh Gurudwara management took initiative to remove loudspeakers outside the premises to curtail its voice inside the premises only, officials said.
