Auction of Sri Harmandir Sahib’s sacred model by PMO is unfortunate: AAP
Chandigarh News: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) condemned the PMO’s decision to auction the sacred model of Sri Harmandir Sahib. It was presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Darbar Sahib in 2015 by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee.
PMO is auctioning 912 items received by PM Modi as gifts and Sri Harmandir Sahib model is one of them. It was listed on the auction site with a base price of 13,500.
Reacting to this, AAP Punjab working President Principal Budh Ram said that the PMO cannot put a price tag on the blessings of Guru Sahib and auctioning Sikh community’s symbol of faith is hurting their sentiments too.
Principal Budh Ram said that Prime Minister Modi and the PMO should immediately apologize to the sikh community and the said model should be removed from the auctioning site. He said that it is unfortunate enough that it was put on for auction by the PMO thoughtlessly but it must not be sold.
