Farmers pelt stones at Shambhu border, tear gas shells fired from drones
New Delhi: The farmers of Punjab are adamant on the demand of implementation of the Swaminathan Commission report, guarantee on MSP, strict action on the Lakhimpur Kheri incident, government jobs and compensation to the families of the farmers killed during the farmer marches.
There are tight security arrangements in Haryana to prevent them from reaching Delhi. After some time they will march towards Delhi.
Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal said that no government has done anything for the farmers that the BJP government has done before.
“We are with the farmers… I think there is politics behind it. The government wants farmers to be financially strong… All issues should be resolved through dialogue… The farmers are satisfied but the agitators are agitating. The common farmer is saying that there is no better government than this.”
Meanwhile, police used tear gas drones at the Haryana-Punjab Shambhu border to disperse protesting farmers while they pelted stones on the security forces.
