New Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini to prove majority in House today
Chandigarh: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has ended its alliance with its ally Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) and replaced Manohar Lal Khattar with Nayab Singh as the new Chief Minister of the state.
Nayab Singh Saini took oath as the new Chief Minister of the state on Tuesday. Now, the new government of Haryana will have to prove its majority in the assembly at 11 am today.
BJP’s Nayab Singh Saini (54) was sworn in as the new chief minister of Haryana at a ceremony in Chandigarh on Tuesday evening, hours after the state CM Khattar resigned along with his cabinet ministers.
Saini claims the support of 48 MLAs. “We have requested the Governor to convene the assembly session,” Saini told reporters yesterday. In the meantime, we will also prove our majority, he said.
