Preneet Kaur no longer with Cong, says Punjab Congress chief Warring

Chandigarh : Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring said that Member Parliament (MP) from Patiala Preneet Kaur, wife of former Congress chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh, is no longer part of the party.

Captain left Congress party last year and formed his own Punjab Lok Congress (PLC) to contest elections as an alliance party with BJP in recently held Vidhan Sabha polls.

Warring, while addressing the media, said that as Punjab's Congress President, he confirms that Preneet Kaur is no longer a part of Congress party. This is official and she may be a MP.

Earlier, in November 2021, Congress had served her a show-cause notice for “anti-party activities” and “siding with her husband’s party (PLC) and replying to the notice, she said, “I am always with Capt Amarinder Singh as family. . . rest you would see,” she had said, however, Congress did not officially expelled her to party later.
