13 toll plazas in 7 districts of Punjab free, Qaumi Insaaf Morcha-Kisan Sangathan sits on dharna

Chandigarh: 13 toll plazas across 7 districts have been exempted from tolls for a duration of 3 hours. The Qaumi Insaaf Morcha and farmers’ organizations are currently staging a sit-in, urging the release of Sikh prisoners.

Following this, vehicle are freely moving in and out of the area, with toll plazas remaining toll-free until 2 pm. Due to the ongoing protest, all toll booth employees have withdrawn from their posts.

Leaders of the Qaumi Insaf Morcha highlight that they have been staging sit-ins at the Punjab-Chandigarh border for the past year.

On January 6, a full year elapsed, yet neither the Centre nor the state government has taken adequate measures to address their demands. Concurrently, farmer organizations have expressed support for the Insaf Morcha’s cause.

Subsequently, there is an announcement to escalate the struggle for the release of captive Sikhs. Front leaders emphasize that unless the government feels the impact, they will not yield.

In the forthcoming period, additional measures will be implemented to intensify the struggle, they said.
