Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday said that the state government has in a period of around one year handed over 29,684 government jobs to the youth of the state and many more such employment opportunities are in pipeline.

HANDS OVER APPOINTMENT LETTERS TO 401 CLERKS AND 17 JEs

Addressing the gathering here during a function to hand over job letters to 401 clerks in Local government department and 17 Junior Engineers in Water Supply and Sanitation department, the Chief Minister exhorted the newly recruited youth to discharge their duty with utmost dedication and professional commitment. He said that time has come when a new work culture based on teamwork and commitment must be introduced in the government offices. Bhagwant Mann said that young blood always has new ideas which his government will implement in the state to give impetus to its overall development.

The Chief Minister called upon the youth to come forward to fulfill the aspirations of the great freedom fighters who had laid their lives for emancipating the country from clutches of foreign imperialism. He said that his government is making strenuous efforts to infuse discipline in the working of the offices. Bhagwant Mann said that this will ensure that people are benefited from the working of the state government.

The Chief Minister said that his only motive is to serve the state with missionary zeal for its overall development and welfare of people. He said that every step and breath is aimed at the well being of the people adding that no stone is being left for this cause. Bhagwant Mann said that earlier politicians hogged limelight after assuming office but he left this limelight for sake of Punjab and Punjabis and to serve the state.

The Chief Minister envisioned that the day is not far when due to strenuous efforts of the state government, Punjab will emerge as a frontrunner state in the country. Bhagwant Mann said that they had already rolled out a comprehensive plan for carving out a rangla Punjab for the coming generations. He quipped that his predecessors had never come out of their palatial palaces during their stints but he had been moving in every nook and corner of the state to usher in a new era of peace, progress and prosperity.

The Chief Minister said that anyone who knows about the past of these political parties knows well that their hands are drenched with the blood of Punjab and Punjabis. He said that these parties with an established track record of anti-Punjab and anti-Punjabi stance have always meted out huge losses to the state by jeopardizing its progress and prosperity. Bhagwant Mann said that whenever these parties were in power they had safeguarded the interests of each other, but ever since the Aam Aadmi government has assumed the charge of office in state their nefarious designs to loot the state in alternative terms have foiled.

The Chief Minister said that baffled over it these leaders have now sunk all their ideological differences to vehemently oppose the state government. He said that though the wardrobes of these leaders were different from each other, the hands of all these political parties have blood of innocent Punjabis in one form or another. Bhagwant Mann said that these leaders are good for nothing and have always backstabbed the state and its people.

The Chief Minister said that the state government has given jobs to more than 29,000 youth in the state adding that the state government is accomplishing the gigantic task of giving the jobs to youth in a phased manner. He said that transparency and merit are the two key pillars of this entire recruitment drive. Bhagwant Mann said that a foolproof mechanism has been adopted for the entire recruitment process due to which not even a single appointment out of these more than 29000 has been challenged so far in the court.

The Chief Minister said that the youth has given affirmative responsibility to the entire process of recruitment as they have got chances to grow and prosper. Citing an example, he said that a youth was recruited as clerk in the beginning after which he got elevated to Assistant Lineman with his hard work and later as Sub Divisional Officer (SDO). Bhagwant Mann hoped that this momentum will continue in the coming days too for the welfare of the youth and holistic development of the state.

The Chief Minister urged the youth not to feel proud of their victory but to stay humble and work hard for more success. He said that confidence and a positive approach should be basic traits of everyone’s personality but there should be no pride in it. Bhagwant Mann said that this is the key to success for charting the success in every field adding that this should be implemented in right earnest.

The Chief Minister said that as runways at the airports facilitate an Airplane for its smooth take off in the same manner the state government is helping the youth to realize their dreams. He asserted that every effort is being made to give wings to the ideas of youth and no stone is being left unturned for this noble cause. Bhagwant Mann made a fervent appeal to youth to make all out efforts for carving an identity of their own to make a place in society adding that sky’s the limit for them.

On the occasion Cabinet Minister Balkar Singh and Brahm Shankar Jimpa along with others were also present.
