4 STF personnel arrested in Kapurthala in drug case on High Court’s order

Chandigarh: Kapurthala police have arrested 4 STF personnel on the orders of the High Court in an NDPS case. It is alleged that they had registered a false case of NDPS in the city police station in the year 2019. Court grants 3-day remand to interrogate arrested cops

DSP Sub Division Harpreet Singh said that in the year 2019, the accused STF personnel had filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court by Kuldeep Singh alias Sonu for registering a false case which was ordered by the High Court in October 2023 to register a case against STF employees by disposing off.

Out of which now 4 police personnel have been arrested. They have been identified as Sub-Inspector Salvister Masih, Constable Gurvinder Singh, Constable Sham Masih and Head Constable Major Singh.

According to the information, in the year 2019, Sub-Inspector Salvister Masih of the STF team had registered a case in City police station for recovering 20 grams of heroin and 250 grams of opium from a young man Kuldeep Singh alias Sonu near the leprosy ashram in Kapurthala. Two other youths were also named in the case.
