AAP MLA Jaswant Singh Gajanmajra released on bail

Chandigarh: AAP MLA Jaswant Singh Gajanmajra, who represents Amargarh, was released from Patiala jail today following a year-long detention related to an alleged bank fraud case.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court granted him bail, leading to his release late in the evening. Gajanmajra had been in jail since his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on November 6 last year.

After his release, Gajanmajra was welcomed by AAP leaders and supporters, including Cabinet Minister Dr. Balbir Singh, MLAs Taranjit Singh Saud, Chetan Singh Joramajra, and Manwinder Singh Ghiyaspura. He later visited Dukhniwaran Gurdwara Sahib to pay his respects.

Dr. Parminder Kaur Mander, Gajanmajra’s wife, expressed gratitude for his release, stating that the Constitution had upheld his right to bail. She said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Education Minister Manish Sisodia had also been jailed without cause, yet the AAP remains committed to uplifting the poor through access to better education and facilities.
