AAP’s Shukrana Yatra celebrates Punjab by-election victory

Chandigarh: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab commenced its ‘Shukrana Yatra’ on November 26 to celebrate the party’s victory in three assembly constituencies during the recent by-elections.

The yatra began at the Kali Mata temple in Patiala under the leadership of state president Aman Arora and will conclude in Amritsar.

Speaking to supporters, Arora expressed gratitude to party workers and the public for the by-election win. He assured that the promises made by AAP would be fulfilled, emphasizing a governance approach driven by initiative to resolve public issues effectively.

The Shukrana Yatra is receiving a warm welcome across various assembly constituencies in the state. With the by-election victories, AAP now holds 95 seats in the Punjab Assembly.

Ahead of the civic elections, the party aims to energize its workers and counter critics who have accused AAP of being a “one-man show.”

The event also signals the party’s efforts to build a robust organizational structure in Punjab. By positioning Aman Arora, a prominent Hindu leader, at the forefront, AAP seeks to consolidate its Hindu voter base ahead of the Delhi elections and the Punjab civic polls next year.

This is the first such statewide outreach by AAP in three years, highlighting its attempts to showcase a united and structured party while preparing a strong second line of leadership beyond Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
