After the assurance of the government, the Behbal Kalan Morcha opened one side of the highway

Faridkot: The Punjab government has once again assured the insaaf morcha leaders who had blocked the Amritsar-Bathinda national highway in Behbal Kalan village to demand concrete action against the 2015 Bargari sacrilege case and related incidents of Behbal Kalan and Kotkapura firing incidents.

It has assured to complete the investigation by February 28 and file a charge sheet in the court.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann appealed to the Insaaf Morcha to open the jam and in the evening, Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal reached the protest site and talked to the protesters for about an hour.
Following the government’s assurance, the Insaaf Morcha has opened one side of the highway, restoring traffic.
Behbal Kalan has been witnessing a protest in the form of ‘Sacrilege Insaaf Morcha’ since December 16, 2021 and representatives of the state government have been coming here from time to time giving assurances, but in anger of no action, the morcha staged a sit-in on the National Highway on February 5 and blocked both the roads.
The Morcha has demanded that the state government complete the investigation into these incidents and file a charge sheet in the court so that the trial against the accused can start.
On this occasion, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that keeping in view the difficulties being faced by the people due to the jam, he had come to request the leaders of the Morcha and accepted their request and agreed to open the way on behalf of the Morcha.
