Amritpal Singh to contest Lok Sabha elections as Independent candidate from Khadoor Sahib

Chandigarh: Amritpal Singh, who is lodged in Dibrugarh jail on NSA charges, will contest as an independent candidate from Khadoor Sahib. This information was given by his lawyer Rajdev Singh Khalsa. Khalsa is a former MP.

In February 2023, Amritpal and his associates attacked a police station in Punjab’s Ajnala armed with weapons. Amritpal’s supporters had stormed the police station demanding the release of Toofan, one of the accused in the kidnapping and riots. Six policemen were injured in the incident.
